If you’re a big fan of Windows Mobile, there’s no doubt you’ve been looking at the HTC Touch Pro. It’s the finest Windows Mobile device to come out of HTC so far, we’d even say it’s better than the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. In terms of hard specs, this is a beast! Here’s a recap of them in case you were wondering:
While the HTC Touch Diamond is nice, slide-out QWERTYs definitely rank higher in our book. We’ve only spent a little bit of time with the Touch Pro, but as mentioned earlier, this is probably our favorite touch-screen Windows Mobile device. The QWERTY keyboard is comfortable enough without being overly large, the screen is vibrant and crisp, and you get the same TouchFLO 3D experience that you get on the Touch Diamond. The 1350mAh battery provides enough juice to handle your beatings for around a day, and voice quality was great when talking on the phone. Check out some of pics for now, and look forward to the review!

Jeez - after hearing about the Bold for over 3 months, it’s hard to believe this thing still hasn’t touched down in North America.
Only 2 more days to wait, according to Canada’s Rogers Wireless. Those of us south of Saskatchewan are still on hold until AT&T pushes it out the door, but everyone on the other side of the border will be able to pick one up on August 21st. No price has been officially outed yet, but all rumors are pointing at $399 on a 3 year contract.

The case is quality corporate black leather, with a stripe of heavy duty textured fabric running down the middle of the case. My favorite aspect of this case has got to be the unique design of the flap, it is curved and tapered towards the bottom giving it an elegant look and a good feel. On the back of the unit is one of the nicest ratcheting belt clips I have seen. The clip swivels 180 degrees. It has an incredibly strong feel and is very quiet when ratcheting. Nothing like most of the “click click click” clips seen on other cases.
The case stays shut with a hidden magnet on the flap and one on the front of the case. I much prefer this to the magnets that can be seen, it gives the case a much cleaner look. I also like that the magnet on the flap “finds” the magnet on the front of the case. There is no moving the flap around to get it closed correctly as with some other cases I have used.
The case also features built-in proximity sensors, so you don’t have to worry about losing the functionality of your holstered alert settings. You do however have to have the device with the screen facing the front of the case for the proximity sensors to work (only with the 88XX devices) on the Curve, the proximity sensors work regardless of the way it is inserted. This was a small issue for me as I had to flip my Berry around before I could look at the screen, an insignificant complaint.
The sides of the case feature elastic, making it easy to slide your device in and out with ease. The inside of the case is also very nice. Made with high quality and incredibly soft fabric, it is sure to never scratch the screen or body of your device. There is a large cutout on the bottom of the case, perfect for pushing the BlackBerry out of the case, there are also cutouts on the bottom corners, not sure what they are there for, but they look sexy. My biggest complaint about this case is that you cannot charge your BlackBerry with this case on, again not a big complaint, but one nevertheless.

Overview:
This is a wonderful case, when you factor in the price of the case, it can’t be beat. It does seem to be designed a little more around the Curve than it is the 88XX, but I suppose that is understandable. If there had been a way to charge my device with the case on, this would have been an Editor’s Choice for sure!

ZDNet Australia certainly seems to tink so. According to the site, Global Bank HSBC is considering ridding themselves of their reliance on the BlackBerry, opting instead to transition their workers to iPhones. If this goes through, it could result in a bulk order of up to 200,000 iPhone units which would most likely rank as the highest mass purchases of the handset to date. The fact that a company like HSBC is even considering the iPhone is testament to robust new Enterprise features in the new 2.0 firmware. The move would be a massive boon to Apple, both in terms of sheer sales as well as public perception, and could conceiveably convince other firms to consider a similar move. While we certainly won’t see the BlackBerry disappear any time soon, RIM might want to consider pushing out the Bold before the end of the decade, as product delays like this can’t do much to bolster confidence in the firm’s desire and ability to keep up with the times.

Yep, this has Nseries event written all over it. Awkwardly secretive, selective audience, decent budget; when it comes to making bloggers feel special Nokia will always be the king. This coming Monday at 3:00 am EST Nokia will be holding a private online event that will showcase two upcoming Nokia handsets a week ahead of the official public Nokia announcement. The online shindig will will cover all the details about these two new handsets and will likely involve a couple of product managers to field some inquiries. Now we’re not betting men here at BGR but if we had to venture a guess as to which handsets will be announced it would have to be the N79 and the N85. The N79 as you recall is a bit of an ugly duckling, mildly reminiscent of the N82. Specs are pretty much unknown at this point beyond a 2.4 inch QVGA screen, a 5 megapixel camera and Feature Pack 2. The N85 on the other hand, is pretty much an open book at this point after having passed through the FCC recently. Tri-band WCDMA, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, integrated FM Transmitter and GPS and dual-slide form factor a la N95 cover the highlights. We’d like to think that the 5800 XpressMusic might be announced in place of one of the aforementioned handsets but it’s likely not in the cards. Some day…
