RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, who was hating hard on touchscreen keyboards last time we heard from him, took the defensive on the BlackBerry Bold’s iPhone-esque aesthetics at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium, saying that the Bold “wasn’t a response to another device…This was actually designed three years ago and the actual physical design of this product—I have the original models from 2006.” Syncing to iTunes aside, Mike, I take it that this would be your response to the iPhone then? What do you guys think?

What would a Monday be without a little bit of inside information? Tmonews has secured a copy of T-Mobile’s upcoming device launch roadmap, and things are looking alright for current and future subscribers. The company expects to launch no fewer than 16 devices between June 16th and August 1st, including the BlackBerry Klipstart, Blackberry Bold, Shadow II, and Moto ROKR E8. Good stuff, right? No word on specific dates or prices, but the launch period is rapidly approaching, so we imagine things will become clear sooner rather than later. Hit the jump for the full rundown and, as always, these are subject to change, destruction, and disappointment.

This one is a long shot but crazier things have surely happened. A new promo video from Sony Ericsson is now making its way across the internet. Many people who have seen the video are jumping to the conclusion that the handset featured in it is none other than the XPERIA X2. Sure, it is possible that the second model from the XPERIA line is leaked before the first model is even released. It’s happened before. What people have failed to mention so far however, is that the video actually depicts two entirely different handsets. The device being used by the girl in this video (pictured center above) clearly omits the three buttons along the bottom of the “X2? being used by the guy. Also, it looks like the handset is sporting a front-facing camera and a light sensor above the ear speaker; both missing from the guy’s phone. Can we assume that the girl’s handset in the video is the X3? Then again, these could just be mock-ups built by the producers of the video. If that’s the case, Sony Ericsson should think about bringing this producer on board because those phones look pretty sweet. Hit the read link for the full video.

Remember that refurb iPhone deal we told you about a while back? AT&T is bringing it back, though with a couple of amendments. This time, both the 8GB and 16GB versions are available. Just as before, the 8GB model will run you $249, while the 16GB model is a full $349. Not bad, but certainly not great considering the impending arrival of the new version of the handset. These went very quickly last time, so if you’re in the market you might want to hit this ASAP. Then again, waiting a month or two might give you the pleasure of a fully-subsidized $199 next gen iPhone. Your call.

According to CNET, RIM is planning to ship the newly announced Blackberry 9000 with some new-fangled music capability that the folks at Apple may not be all that pleased with. The program in question has been dubbed “Blackberry Media Sync”—and it will make it possible to transfer music to the phone via iTunes. There has been no official word yet, but my guess is that Steve’s reaction will be to bypass diplomacy and stomp on RIM Godzilla style.

Well, well, well. Fresh off the recent FCC filing, the American version of the HTC Touch Dual has shown up on the Best Buy website. Currently available for pre-order from bestbuy.com, the handset sports support for 850/900/1800/1900MHz bands, giving us full quad-band support and making it a useful acquisition for current AT&T subscribers wishing to use 3G here. The price is listed as a back-breaking $549.99, which is a bit steep, especially considering the impending arrival of HTC’s next-gen Touch interface, but if you absolutely must have the latest HTC handset to hit American soil, this one is a keeper.

The HTC Touch Diamond is pretty classy already, but this desktop cradle/desktop dock gives it a nice house on your desk for it to sleep and dock. From the looks of it, it’s even got earbuds and a 3.5mm jack for you to connect to a set of speakers as well. The footprint looks slightly large compared to say, an iPhone dock, but we can throw some crap on the floor to make room. [Clove via Tracy and Matt via Tech Digest]

That didn’t take too long, did it? We finally have it people — it’s alive and confirmed. The BlackBerry Bold is indeed the official name for the BlackBerry 9000 device and it should be available starting “this summer.” AT&T is the first carrier to launch, but there is also a 1700MHz model coming which will support T-Mobile’s 3G data network. Here are a couple highlights:
One more shot and full press release after the jump!
