Google set to unleash the “Android”

The mobile world is about to get a little crazier. Reliable rumors are pointing to Monday as the day that Google will unveil their new mobile phone platform. Codenamed “Android”, the software suite is expected to contain a “complete mobile phone software stack,” incorporating new elements on top of a linux-based OS platform. It’s unclear if an actual handset will be on display, but sources close to the project have revealed that Japan’s KDDI and NTT DoCoMo will be linked somehow to the Monday annoucement. We’ll keep you updated as the details come in, but until then…the countdown has begun!
