Verizon’s F700 Variant Could Actually Be the Samsung SCH-U940

Last week we mentioned a rumor that a variant of the Samsung F700 could make its way on the Verizon network sometime in the near future. Today, another rumor from Phone Arena has determined that the variant is actually the Samsung SCH-U940, and it is set to make its official debut sometime in the next few months. Details are scarce but word on the street is that the U940 will feature a 440×240 pixel touch screen, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, and a 2 MP camera downgrade from the 3MP version found on the F700. Again, keep in mind that no official announcement has been made.

LG Venus details get fleshed out

We already had a pretty good idea of what LG’s Venus slider handset would look like, but the folks at phoneArena have now fleshed out a few more of the phone’s details, including word on pricing and availability. As we knew before, the phone sports a pair of screens on its face, which phoneArena has now clarified will be a 2-inch QVGA display up top, and a 1.49-inch, 176 x 240 touchscreen below. The site also got word that the phone will be a bit taller and wider than the VX8550 Chocolate, but not as thick, and that it’ll be available in black or pink. If that’s enough to sway you in its favor, you’ll be able to get your hands on one on November 19th for $199 — after a $50 rebate and a two-year contract, that is.

First Google gPhone Photos Probably Fake, Definitely Beat With Ugly Stick

4_1.jpg

It was only a matter of time before pictures of the Google Phone hit the pipes. Maybe they’re real. Or maybe the third tier Chinese company e28 is riding the buzz with some irresistible blog bait leaks. Either way, if this is what hardware running Google’s secret OS sauce looks like, it’s probably doomed.

AT&T Motorola Q9h Unboxing

What do we have here, guys? You all waited for it, you might even have shed blood for it, but it’s finally here in the flesh, and we’re super impressed! For starters, the early unit we had way back is a little different, and the changes on the new production unit are for the better. Let’s take the keyboard, for instance…before it was a rubberized texture, and while it was cool, it actually got in the way of speed-typing. The AT&T version has switched to completely plastic keys and we can bang out emails faster that you can say, “when can I get one.” To answer that, we’re hearing the 1st of November will be the official launch date. We were a little disappointed that BlackBerry Connect wasn’t made available on the device like it was with the AT&T Tilt, but we guess it will come sooner or later. How about the speakers? I think it might be one of the loudest and clearest speakers on any  mobile device, it is that good! Another welcome addition is built-in GPS. Something that wasn’t even on our earlier at all, and it works very well. From the Pantech Duo, to the AT&T Tilt, to the Motorola Q9h, and the upcoming Blackjack II, you shouldn’t have any problem finding a Windows Mobile device on AT&T. Pricing wasn’t revealed to us just yet by our source, but we’ll update you as soon we know! Want to check out the pictures? Sure you do!
