Samsung SGH-i780 Windows Mobile Smartphone shows its Specs

Samsung’s recently unveiled Windows Mobile smartphone is indeed the Samsung SGH-i780 as it is now confirmed by a document of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. It seems to be even brand new (it just received its Bluetooth approval beginning this month). So what’s known so far?
The SGH-i780 is sporting Windows Mobile 6 Professional and features triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz as well as singleband UMTS/HSDPA at 2100 MHz. Furthermore it features Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g and is expected to even include GPS (type unknown)!

Quite unique for a Windows Mobile device is the 2.55″ 320 x 320 pixel touch-screen (AFAIK it’s even the first Windows Mobile smartphone with this new screen resolution). In addition, the device features a QWERTY thumb-keyboard and a kind of optical mouse:

The SGH-i780 is expected to feature a 3.2 megapixel main camera and a second VGA front camera for video telephony. According to reports from the Gitex, the device measures 115.9 x 61.3 x 13.3 mm.
Internal memory is unknown yet but it can be extended by microSD cards.

A release date or release area isn’t known yet, but based on the supported GSM and UMTS bands, a release can be expected for EMEA and APAC, especially because some European Samsung Mobile websites (UK, Germany, Spain) lists it already:

Due to the missing support for all American GSM und UMTS bands, a North American release is unlikely.

T-Mobile BlackBerry 8320 Curve Now Official: $249 With 2-Year Contract

We reported on the BlackBerry Curve getting T-Mobile hotspot compatibility, but the 8320 has just become official, retailing now for $249 after $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract. It’s available in titanium and gold, and you should be able to pick one up from retailers (they just got the go-ahead to sell). Thanks tipster! [T-Mobile]

UPDATE: I have personally went to a local T-Mobile Store and have confirmed the $249 after $50 rebate price is valid for existing T-Mobile customers that do not have a running contract and wish to extend 2 years.
