John Gruber takes on Steve Ballmer about the iPhone

On Daring Fireball, John Gruber writes about “the iPhone’s funny price.” In his blog post, he reacts to the Microsoft CEO’s statements about the iPhone. Ballmer thinks the iPhone will generate a lot of revenue, but won’t reach a big market share because of its high price. Ballmer would rather have Microsoft’s software on 60 to 80 percent of 1.3 billion phones rather than have a 2 to 3 percent market share that Apple may get for the iPhone, in his estimation.
