HTC Excalibur Gets Approved By The FCC
The Federal Communications Comission has approved the new HTC Excalibur. The not yet announced Excalibur is a Windows Mobile smartphone with a keyboard layout much like the Motorola Q. HTC has requested confidentiality from the FCC regarding this device so there is little to no information on the details of this device.
There are unofficial information on this device from various rumors and leaks.
According to various rumors and leaks, this device will use a design that is becoming increasingly popular: a slim tablet shape with a QWERTY keyboard below the screen. It will supposedly include a real innovation: a jog strip. Instead of pushing up and down on a jog wheel, users will run their finger up and down a touch-sensitive strip just to the right of the screen. Above and below this strip will be areas that can be touched to open the Start Menu and go Back.
This will reportedly be a quad-band GSM/GPRS device. Whether it will offer EDGE or a faster cellular-wireless networking standard is not yet known,
In addition, the Excalibur is expected to offer both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
A great deal of information about it remains unknown, like its processor speed, amount of internal storage, memory card type, and when it will be released.
A leaked photo of this device shows it using a theme from T-Mobile, and rumors of a Cingular Wireless version have also been circulating.
