1.jpgI was fortunate enough to get my hands on one of these new leather cases for our Q from JAVOedge and here are my thoughts.

For $25.95 from www.javoedge.com this case is nicer than the Naztech Cabrio leather case I’ve reviewed.

As you can see you have access to the Scroll Wheel, USB port, IR port, and headset jack (that you can’t see) while inside the case.

The leather itself is nice and cushiony, if you will… VERY nice feel to it. It will definitely protect the Q.

This leather case comes with a detachable plastic belt clip. A metal screw screws into the case as the anchor. If you take the screw out and use it just as a case (no belt clip) the back side is flush, making it very comfortable to put in the pocket.

The plastic clip seems pretty sturdy. My only worry is the metal screw anchor system. After wearing the Q on my belt for a few hours I took the case out of the clip and examined the screw… and it turned out to be loose. 4 turns counter-clockwise and the screw came out. Not good.

On a positive note, the Q is very snug in the case which is nice. You don’t have to worry about it slipping/falling out at all. I tested this with the standard battery and even though you could conceivably fit the Q with an extended battery in the case, I wouldn’t.

The case doesn’t add too much bulk to the Q… but this is a case that you CARRY the Q in… not a case that you USE the Q in… so bulk isn’t a huge priority like it would be for a VAJA case that’s ALWAYS on the Q. Regardless, it’s nice and not too bulky.

Conclusion:

Pros:
1. Looks very professional
2. Will protect the Q well
3. Allows access to USB port, IR port, headset port and scroll wheel while still in the case
4. If it DOESN’T need to be on your belt (if you’ll just put it in your pocket or throw it in your briefcase/purse/bag) then this is a great case.
5. The pricing at $25.95 is pretty competitive.

Cons:
1. I wouldn’t use the belt clip for fear that the screw anchor will loosen itself to the point of no longer being an anchor Smile

This case gets an 8/10 from me. Smile
